This is a [Next.js](https://nextjs.org) project bootstrapped with [`create-next-app`](https://nextjs.org/docs/app/api-reference/cli/create-next-app).

## Getting Started

First, run the development server:

```bash
npm run dev
# or
yarn dev
# or
pnpm dev
# or
bun dev
```

Open [http://localhost:3000](http://localhost:3000) with your browser to see the result.

You can start editing the page by modifying `app/page.tsx`. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

This project uses [`next/font`](https://nextjs.org/docs/app/building-your-application/optimizing/fonts) to automatically optimize and load [Geist](https://vercel.com/font), a new font family for Vercel.

## Docker

Create the Docker environment file:

```bash
cp .env.docker.example .env
```

Edit `.env` with the public URLs that should be baked into the browser bundle. If your backend API is running on the host machine, keep:

```bash
NEXT_PUBLIC_API_BASE_URL=http://host.docker.internal:8001
```

Keep private secrets such as `AUTH_SECRET`, `AUTH_GOOGLE_ID`, and `AUTH_GOOGLE_SECRET` in `.env.local`; `docker-compose.yml` loads that file at runtime.

Build and start the app:

```bash
docker compose up --build
```

If your Docker installation uses the classic Compose command, run:

```bash
docker-compose up --build
```

Open [http://localhost:3000](http://localhost:3000).

To stop the container:

```bash
docker compose down
```

You can also build and run without Compose:

```bash
docker build \
  --build-arg NEXT_PUBLIC_API_BASE_URL=http://host.docker.internal:8001 \
  --build-arg NEXT_PUBLIC_AUTH_BASE_URL=http://localhost:3000 \
  -t meet-notemaker .
docker run \
  --env-file .env.local \
  --add-host=host.docker.internal:host-gateway \
  -p 3000:3000 \
  meet-notemaker
```

## Deploy on Vercel

The easiest way to deploy your Next.js app is to use the [Vercel Platform](https://vercel.com/new?utm_medium=default-template&filter=next.js&utm_source=create-next-app&utm_campaign=create-next-app-readme) from the creators of Next.js.

Check out our [Next.js deployment documentation](https://nextjs.org/docs/app/building-your-application/deploying) for more details.
